Botswana counts among the most prosperous and calm countries on the African continent. This territory, as big as France, but 30 times less populated, is envied by a number of its neighbours.
It has constructed its future on a democratic, stable, competent and hardly corrupted administration, a wise management, diamonds (of which it is the 3rd largest producer in the world) and also other minerals such as coal and oil. In Botswana, 40% of the land is left to its wildlife. Some of the wildest national parks and nature reserves in Africa protects most of the Southern African game species (36 big mammal species, 480 bird species, 80 fish species, 70 snake species, 500 butterfly species and a very rich flora) including the rarest such as Buffon’s Kob (antelope), the Situtunga (antelope) or the Wild Dog. The Kalahari occupies most of the territory, immense wild stretches, crossed by the herds during the migratory periods, when the dry season returns and water becomes scarce. Explore the Central Kalahari Reserve and the Mkgadikgadi National Park and follow the herds of zebras, wildebeest, elephants on route towards the transparent water of the Okavango Delta. |

On the way do not miss the salt pans of Nxai Pan and experience a night under the stars in the middle of this lunar landscape. It boasts an endless sky with a 180 degree view of stars as far as the eye can see.
In the north-east, the gigantic Okavango Delta extends itself over what was a lake 10 thousand years ago. One of the most spectacular regions of the country, the Delta is renowned for exceptional lodges and safaris (by mokoro or traditional canoe, motor boat or 4x4), exclusive and personalised service, always conscious of the environment and of the economic development of its local communities.
In the extreme north of the country, bordering Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia, is the Chobe National Park which offers the densest African Elephant population in the world. The Chobe National Park is often visited in combination with the Victoria Falls, situated only a 2 hour drive from Chobe. The Park can be discovered by 4x4 but also by following the Chobe River, offering numerous occasions to spot elephants bathing in the river or a herd of hippo curiously encircling your boat. |
